Predators poster

I'm back! Yes, after more than two weeks I can finally continue on writhing again. It's been a nice break, but a break I never want to have for another long time.

We kick off with this poster from Predators. I have to say this poster is disappointing. It looks like something an amateur photoshop artist put together in just a few hours. The whole right arm looks awkward as hell.

I do like the updated look of the Predators from this poster and from the sneak peak footage released a few days of ago, everything looks decent. Check out that sneak peak by clicking here.

31 days of Horror: From Dusk Till Dawn (Day 5)

From Dusk Till Dawn(1996)
Directed by Robert Rodriguez
Starring-George Clooney, Quentin Tarantino, Harvey keitel and Juliet Lewis.

I always find From Dusk Till Dawn a unique one because a good chunk of the film is completely different from the rest. The film beings where two brothers are on the run from the law. They take a family hostage so they can use them to get across the mexican boarder. You'd think that's pretty much it for the plot, but almost half-through this flick, vampires, blood, violence and gore is tossed right into your face. It's messed up and comes out of nowhere.

I'm not a huge Clooney fan, but he is a complete asshole in this which makes him badass. Tarantino is great also, he comes across as a loose cannon and a asshole. I love all the small roles from, Salma Hayek, Cheech Martin and Danny Trejo.

The effects and make-up are amazing and it's adds to the fun joy ride. This is what goes down when Rodriguez and Tarantino team up!

Spunky Trivia:

  • Once again a horror flick is banned in Ireland. This time until 2000, which is insane.
  • Salma Hayek wasn't told how to dance, Rodriguez just told her to go with the music.
  • Body count came to 122.
  • Tarantino was set to direct, but stepped down to concentrate on his role.

Don't fuck with the wrong Mexican, because Machete is coming!

Remember the fake trailer called Machete that was shown between Deathproof and Planet Terror? Well Robert Rodriguez talked about turning that trailer into a feature film a few times, but I never really did think he would go ahead with it for some reason. Maybe because he has so many other projects lined up like, Predators, Red Sonja and Sin City 2. According to Collider, Danny Trejo has announced that Machete will begin filming in 5 weeks times. WOW, that kinda came out of nowhere. I'm surprised it's going ahead, but I couldn't be anymore excited. The trailer was 110% badass.

Speaking of how awesome the trailer was, I wonder how close Rodriguez will stick to the trailer. Will it be done in that grindhouse style? Will it be as over the top? Will it have Jeff Fahey? I hope so.

You can view the fake trailer for Machete here.

Predator remake-Why it's not a bad idea

With every film being remade these days, it's no surprise that Predator, just got caught in the loop. We get our info from filmdrunk:

A reliable source dropped us a line revealing to us that Robert Rodriquez and his Troublemaker Studios will be producing the Predator reboot for 20th Century Fox. Now here’ the kicker, the pitch being sent around town implies that the reboot will have more than one predator. “In the reboot a team of commandoes face down a mysterious race of vicious monsters.''

I always feel the term ''reboot'', is just a another word for ''remake''. It's like saying ''Grandpa has passed on'' instead of saying ''Grandpa is DEAD''. Anyway, I know a lot of you out there are pissed off that precious Predator is getting re-done, but honestly, I see no problem with it.

The first Predator flick was very well received, but since then, Predator never made a massive hit on screen again. Predator 2 got negative reviews and 14 years later, Predator came back to the big screen with AVP and Requiem, which was bashed by fans and critics. Predator needs a fresh start and bringing Robert Rodriquez into the mix is more than positive news.

I think this is what the franchise needs, but do you think differently? Do you love or hate this idea
